The Mercedes-Benz 540K is a German luxury passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1936 at the Paris Motor Show. Serial production took place in 1936-1940. Only 406 copies of this car were produced in its course. The 540K model was developed as the successor to the 500K model offered by Mercedes-Benz. Generally, it was in its essence a structural development of its predecessor, but it differed in several elements. First of all, it had a slightly changed body style, had an engine with a larger displacement with a slightly higher maximum power, but it was still a V8. The weight of the car has also decreased due to the use of other types of pipes in the structure of the body frame. Mercedes-Benz 540K was produced in three body versions: 2-seater convertible, 4-seater coupe and 7-seater limousine. The outbreak of World War II stopped work on the further development of this car.
